Basketball BC is hosting the inaugural Best of BC High Performance and Identification Camp, August 28th and 29th, 2021 at the Langley Events Centre. The event is targeted for boys born 2004-2007 and will focus on introducing and familiarizing high level players with Canada Basketball concepts and style of play.
Players at camp will also have the opportunity to be identified for future participation in Canada Basketball Pathway programs which include:
- Basketball BC’s Targeted Athlete Strategy (TAS) programs – High Performance Training (HPT) and Centre for Performance (CP),
- Canada Basketball National Championships – Basketball BC Provincial Team Programs, and
- Canada Summer Games (for U18 in 2022)
Best of BC Camp participants should rate highly on more than one of the following Gold Medal Model pillars used by Canada Basketball for identification and assessment:
- Basketball - Elite level technical skill, conceptual understanding and decision making.
- Physical - Elite athleticism and physical attributes (height, strength, quickness)
- Mental - High level composure in competitive situations, receptive to coaching and feedback.
- Social/emotional - Resilient, positive training and competitive attitude, positive and accurate self-identity.
Programming is particularly interested in Post Players:
- 2004-2005 age group - 6’6” and taller, and
- 2006-2007 age group - 6’4” and taller
To be eligible for the camp, players MUST be recommended by their High School or Club coach.
Note: Name of coach (and school/club) who is recommending the athlete will be required for registration. Basketball BC reserves the right to remove any athlete who does not meet the program criteria. Fees will not be refunded in full. The applicable administration fee will be applied.
Camp Information
CAMP FEE: $100 + GST (fee will not be adjusted for partial participation)
(A 2021-22 Basketball BC Athlete membership is required for participation. The membership fee of $15 will be added to the registration if required)
MAXIMUM NUMBER: 50 per age group
Note: some athletes may receive a direct invitation based on prior identification or evaluation

REGISTRATION: ONLINE ONLY REGISTRATION CLOSED
DEADLINE: Wednesday, August 25, 2021
PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE AS REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR - In accordance with Basketball BC policy, all participants must be preregistered (for the correct tryout/clinic/program) to attend each specific Basketball BC tryout/clinic/program.
PLEASE SELECT THE CORRECT REGISTRATION - A registration list for each specific tryout/clinic/program will be used to confirm the participants. Only those individuals on each specific registration list will be allowed to participate. Basketball BC is not responsible for any user errors which may result in an individual being excluded from participating in the tryout/clinic/program if the individual is not on the registration list.
REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE - If the individual is registered for the wrong tryout/clinic/program, the individual will need to be registered for the correct tryout/clinic/program before the stated registration deadline. Please send a refund request for the original registration to Basketball BC Information. An administration fee will be charged in accordance with our Refund Policy.
EMAIL CONFIRMATION - Upon successful completion of the registration (and payment), an email confirmation will be sent to the Account Holder (Parent if account is for a child). The email may be sent to a "junk" folder depending on the email filter - please check that the junk folder is not set to "auto delete". If you do not receive or cannot find the email in the junk folder, contact Basketball BC Information to confirm that the individual is registered for the tryout/clinic/program.
