This past weekend the 2012 U13 Girls Club Championships took place at the Richmond Olympic Oval. The 2 day tournament hosted a total of 18 teams in 3 divisions, coming from all over the province in the hopes of claiming the championship title in their respective divisions. 

 The Basketball BC Club Championships boast the best clubs and programs that our province has to offer. The tournament featured many exciting, highly competitive games which concluded with championship games on Saturday. 

 The tournament started off bright and early on Friday morning. In the Blue Division, Seymour Storm - the Steve Nash Challenge Tournament Champions - lost to RBL Shooting Stars by only 5 points. In the championship game 3D U13 Elite and U13 Althelite battled it out on the hardwood for the second time. As foreshadowed by their earlier game, 3D U13 Elite won 47-21 claiming the Blue Division Championship trophy. 

 

Half of the teams were a part of the Red Division in the U13 Girls Club Championships. Slamma Jamma Orange dominated the majority of the tournament in the Red Division. Coming out of a 2-0 record and +37 point differential in their pool, they were named the team to beat. The championship game was between Slamma Jamma Orange and MRYB Cougars. It was a tight game but the MRYB Cougars won the championship Red Division title with a 36-28 victory. 

 Finally the girls Green Division final, the RBL Cobras entered the championship game with a 3-0 record against the NLBA girls team with a 2-1 record. Although the NLBA girls put up a good fight, it was the RBL Cobras who took the championship Green Division trophy home in the end.
